All under 8s teams this weekend will be participating in a skills day in place of their game. They will have players and coaches from the Pacers come and give them different drills and stations to rotate through, and provide our coaches an overview of what to expect this season for the under 8s.
The under 8s program gives referees discretion on their calls made throughout the season to allow players opportunities to develop. As an example, a top age player who can clearly dribble the ball down the court is much more likely to be called on a travel call than a younger player who is still clearly learning those skills. We remind parents that if there are any concerns with the refereeing to bring them to the club, and not take it out on the referees.
The skills day entry cost is $3 instead of the usual $2.50 (for players only – spectators will have no entry cost for this week only for under 8s) – entry costs will return to normal next week.
