Basketball Victoria have been working behind the scenes this year to replace our existing ageing registrations system that gets used both by us as a club and by our association to handle court side scoring, fixtures, stats and pretty much anything else they need to keep track of.
The good news is next season we’re going to have a brand new, locally developed, web based tool to handle everything! Development is progressing quickly and being a Melbourne based development company they’re actually turning around new functionality really quickly.
The bad news is that as part of the transition, we unfortunately need everyone to register on the new system between now and the start of the season (although the sooner the better so we can get the necessary setup done at our end) – we can’t migrate registrations across. There isn’t any cost involved in doing this, all you need to do is create an account, fill in the new registration form linked below, and you’re done! The benefit of this new setup is you will be in full control of all your personal data (this is also why we can’t do it for you).
We expect that there will be a couple of teething issues with the new system as it’s rolled out, however we’ve met with Basketball Victoria earlier this month and seen their roadmap and ultimately this is going to result in a much better experience longer term for everyone. The system is being rolled out across all of Victoria, so every association is going to be going through a similar process in 2020.
There are some other changes coming as well that this will impact but we’ll cover those off in the new year.
